Cecile Richards of Planned Parenthood International is furious, just furious that the Catholic Bishops of the United States, lead by Cardinal Rigali and Archbishop Chaput, would have the temerity to say they can’t support a health care bill, government run or not, which mandates abortion, its purveyance, and dangerous abortifacient drugs. She couldn’t have been surprised at Rigali’s and the Bishops’ push back.
The Bishops echo the sentiments of Americans, according to the latest polls. They do not want to pay for fellow citizens, and children’s abortions with their tax dollars. They don’t want to be complicit in such bloody activity. It is not health care, and they know it.
Richards then uses such words as “hard-line” and criticizes the Church’s teaching on condoms in Africa, where women have complained that they need medicine, mere aspirin, for their children, not condoms or abortifacients.
She’s a demagogue, mouthing the shabby and outworn anti-human boloney that thinking Americans have heard and rejected for 40 years. They don’t buy it. They don’t buy that abortion is freedom. It’s a bloody business, literally, and the majority of Americans don’t want any part of it. They don’t want tax dollars going toward abortion and they don’t want clinics in their neighborhoods. Just read the latest essay by an advocate of abortion, Sara Kliff of Newsweek, when she visits Dr. LeRoy Carhart in Nebraska, a late term abortionist. She watches an abortion and is profoundly and irreversibly affected by it. No kidding.
