Who is Kmiec you say? A so-called prominent Catholic law professor at the Pepperdine who has been angling for some kind of position within the Obama camp for the last year or so. His opportunism has been startling and he has taken obsequiousness to a new level only to be outdone by the present editor of L’Osservatore Romano, Gian Maria Vian, who, like Kmiec, maintains that Obama is not a pro-abortion president. In fact, both men with straight faces defend Obama as a truly pro-life president.It reminds me of the delusional devotion of American communists in the 1930s.Anyway, Kmiec will probably be the ambassador to Malta, a very Catholic country. According to current scuttlebutt, the Vatican refused to consider him for the American ambassadorship to the Vatican because of his contorted view of Obama’s quite unswerving commitment to the purveyance of abortion to every corner of the earth.
